Something different, I went on a nature photography trail with @jayaprakash_bojan, @Temasekseen, @NatGeoAsia, @PSS.SG and a group of amazing photographers -thank you guys for letting me join this event!
Walked around Kallang River, Punggol Waterway and Coney Island. Somehow I ended up taking a lot of urbanscapes, lines, and as I was reviewing the shots it magically turned black and white 🙂 nevertheless, so blown away seeing economic progress and environmental sustainability in sync. #Ecosperity#OurCleanEarth #NatGeoAsia#PSS_contest

VII Diamonds Ride Out
There is a cliche that motorbikes are dangerous and for crazy people. That the biker subculture is for hooligans and daredevils with death wishes. But like so many cliches, these do no justice to the truth.
Yes, bikers love their vroom-vroom machines. They love speed. But that high-octane public image conceals much more. The mental dexterity inherent to the art of biking — as I was told, “you ride with your brain”. The bond a biker forms with his bike, year after year, like a horseman with his trusty steed. The intelligence and humanity of these rugged, well-traveled hobbyists.
I rode 200km to Malaysia and back with VII Diamonds, a brotherhood of Singaporean bikers, to see the truth of them for myself.

An Abandoned Mansion in Singapore
Hidden inside dense vegetation somewhere between Holland and Tyersall Road, lies an abandoned two-storey mansion once owned by Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor. Istana Woodneuk, as it is widely called, was built in the late 1870s.
It was reportedly damaged by fire in 1925, rebuilt around 1935 and was named “Istana Wooden York”.
During World War II it was used as a military hospital and on the 12th of September 1942, Japanese planes bombarded the entire area and killed approximately 700 medics and patients. The mansion was returned to the Istana of Johor in 1948 and was rebuilt again in 1951.
From what I’ve gathered it wasn’t until 2004 when it was completely unkept. A devastating fire in 2006 caused its blue roof tiles to cave in leaving it beyond repair and structurally unsafe.
Now, no wall standing is left ungraffitied. Tragic for a place so steeped in history but it is what it is… don’t leave your mansion

Press the shutter and do nothing for 30 seconds or so. After, you get shiny streaks of light. What’s not to love about it.
Perth - Day 4
The Old Brewery & Riverside Brewhouse
Followed by a quick visit to Fremantle.
Back to Subiaco for an afternoon walk around the city.
Perth - Day 3
Canola fields on the way to York from Subiaco.
Managed to pass by Matilda Bay to take a few snaps after the long drive from York.
Made it to Kings Park, last stop for the day. The best view of Perth’s business district. On this particular night, the place was packed but my friends and I noticed something peculiar. Everyone was quite and they’re just staring at their phones. Found out later on, Pokémon GO had just been launched. Literally I had the entire viewing platform all to myself.
Perth - Day 2
Coffee and breakfast at Brew-Ha, Rokeby Road, Subiaco before heading out to Joondalup.
Took a break from shooting and grabbed some fish and chips from Cott’s Takeaway along Marine Parade at Cottesloe Beach.
Back at Cottesloe Beach for the sunset.
Perth - Day 1
Brunch at Wise Restaurant at Eagle Bay Road, Dunsborough
A quick stop at Hay Shed Hill Wines in Margaret River for their Pitchfork Moscato and Block 6 Chardonnay.
